About Me

Name's Jessi...but you can call me Geo. I'm a stubborn and independent 24-year-old and have no idea what to do with my life, but that's okay. Cat lover. Music lover. Fluent in sarcasm. I love to read because it's how I escape reality. I could recommend books til I'm blue in the face.

TGIF is hosted by GReads
.:Weekly Recap:.
Books to Pine for (6): Releasing in April
No more memes this week again! Work has been crazy so I've been much too lazy to do memes lately. :p
Reviews:
This week's TGIF question: Series finales!! Which book, from any series, has been your favorite ending? Your least favorite?
Favorite: I'd have to say Shadowfever (Fever series by Karen Marie Moning). That book was EPIC.
Least favorite: Hmm...probably Twisted (Intertwined series by Gena Showalter). That ending was awful. It made perfect sense and was quite brilliant really, but it was so not the way I wanted it to end. No HEA :(
Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read
This week's Follow Friday question: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?
Nope. I wouldn't spend the money on it unless I was pretty sure it was going to be awesome. But I would definitely still read a book with bad reviews. If it sounds interesting enough, there's really not much that will stop me from reading it!

Don't hate Twisted! :( It's not over yet!! I remember reading that Gena is working on another novel in the series that might be the finale. All I know that this isn't meant to be a trilogy!! So don't hate that one!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove Shadowfever!! Forgot about that one in my haste!
Here's my Friday Hops
Have a GREAT weekend!

I would have to really think it was interesting, I guess. New follower!

Great answer, I'm really drawn to the badly reviewed books as I tend to enjoy them alot more than the ones everyone raves about.

Great answer. I'm a new follower by the way :)
ReplyDeleteI have bought a book because of a bad review because the book sounded like it would be awesome to me :D I loved it too!

Hi there :) just hopping through. Depending on what was the bad in a review I may be swayed on a purchase.
ReplyDeleteHere is my choice...

I have :) Life's too short for a bad book, but sometimes its too enticing :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week!

New follower here =)
ReplyDeleteMy Answer: No, Reviews matter a lot to me. Not unless the book became controversial that I would really feel the need to read that book.

That's what I think, too. If the synopsis is good /I like the author or sth. like that I will read the book. It's just...why would I want to read it because of a bad review?
ReplyDeleteNew follower, by the way - here's my FF: http://booksmartie.blogspot.com
I love how simple and straight-to-the point your answer was! And I agree. I will only buy a book if I feel like I'll definitely like it, and I can't do that if it's surrounded by a bunch of "i didn't like it" or *Snores* lol. But I'll still read it if I'm super curious about it! New follower!
ReplyDeleteShae @ Understanding Shae's Story
Agreed - bad reviews wouldn't stop me from reading a book (I just borrow from the library), but it probably will stop me from buying it outright first.
ReplyDeleteNew follower here! Happy Friday :).

ReplyDeleteNew follower hopping through! Great post! I followed you through GFC and Networked Blogs - you can return the favour over at http://www.bethebooks.blogspot.com :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThe only way that I would spend money on it, would be if I were actually in the store reading the first chapter to get the feel of it. Otherwise, I would think about giving it a chance and maybe checking it out from the library. If I had the money, I might buy it if the first chapter caught my attention and hooked me.
