About Me

Name's Jessi...but you can call me Geo. I'm a stubborn and independent 24-year-old and have no idea what to do with my life, but that's okay. Cat lover. Music lover. Fluent in sarcasm. I love to read because it's how I escape reality. I could recommend books til I'm blue in the face.

.:Weekly Recap:.
Top Ten Tuesday (19): My spring TBR list
Reviews:
This week's TGIF question: Bookish trends!! What are some bookish trends you are noticing in the literature world today? Is there a particular trend you'd like to see more of?
I've been getting a hold of a lot of books lately with really cheesy and cliched romances. Or love triangles. I hate that crap. If reading a book is tickling my gag reflex, I'm not going to want to finish it.
What I'd like to see more of? Genuine, slow-burn, one-on-one romance. PLEASE.

This week's Follow Friday question: What is the longest book you've read? What is your favorite 600+ page book?
Brisingr and Eldest by Christopher Paolini are the only two books I've read more than 500 pages, so I guess Eldest was my favorite because, in all honesty, Brisingr was terrible. Eldest was pretty boring but at least the two whammies of surprises at the end made it worth it.
Wait!! Scratch that. I lied. Eclipse and Breaking Dawn were over 600 too! So I guess Breaking Dawn is my favorite.

Breaking Dawn was a popular choice this week! I flew through the Twilight books,s o I forget that they were so long!
ReplyDeleteCome see my TGIF / Follow Friday for this week!
Yup Breaking Dawn is popular this week! Its one of the few books I've also read that broke the 600 page mark (along with Harry Potter!)

Have a great weekend, Sharon
Hopping through. I've never read Paolini's books. I really want to some time - even if they're not all good.

I totally agree with you, I am all for the slow burn romance, the days of triangles really need to come to an end. It's too hard to do those right!

Agreed on the slow one-on-one romances! I love me a good build up!
ReplyDeletePreet @ AWR
Yeah I tire of love triangles too! Sometimes they can be really good, other times not so much!

Game of thrones is my favourite long read, it is a real time consumer but worth it. -Carly :D
ReplyDeleteOoh, another series I need to start and to see they've made the 600+ list. I don't know that that is the reason I haven't read them yet, just other book distractions. Happy Friday! Here's my Follow Friday
ReplyDeleteIf you consider the fact that the version of The Lord of The Rings I read was the one that’s one book with the 3 parts inside (1202 pages in the brazilian version), that would be the longest book I’ve ever read. But if you consider series to favorite 600+ page reads, hands down, Harry Potter. Not so much for the story, but for the feeling it brings me every time I think about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower, btw!
